I'll clarify things before I start: this article is not against the people from Asia in general; it would be unfair to those who own pets and to those who are involved in animal rights groups in that continent.
This article is against the people who take part in the mess I'll mention below, and against people who overlook, close their eyes about this subject and pretend everything is ok.
Eating dog meat is part of the Asian culture? As we know, this fact happens mainly in China and South Korea, among other countries.
Ok, much as revolting it can sound, we could even try to respect it, even though we know dogs are unquestionably intelligent, loyal, adorable, supportive, helpful etc. I hate to say that, but I think, once something has been part of a culture for centuries, trying to change it is usually a lost cause.
On the other hand, WE DON'T HAVE TO tolerate the inhuman ways they lodge those animals, much less the gruesome procedures used to slaughter them.
They are clubbed to death, roasted alive, hanged, stoned, dragged by cars and skinned alive, as in the case of the fur industry, as much as raccoons and cats. And yes, cats are also boiled alive. How come pain, torture, violence, and disrespect to an animal can be acceptable and considered NORMAL in those countries? How come do they feel comfortable when they cause suffering and see another being struggling in pain? People know it and still eat dog meat and wear fur, as well as their Government are aware of this situation and allow this to happen. Laws aren't enforced to punish animal torturers and killers, whether the torture and killings concern to flesh and fur market or not. They have a belief, that if a dog suffer from severe physical pain before it dies, its meat will taste better and that it'll enhance the "medicinal powers" of the meat; other people also believe that their meat is good for virility. Not all those animals were raised on dog farms under terrible conditions; some of them were somebody's pets once.
I'm posting just some out of dozens of videos and images that can be seen over the Internet. You MUST try to watch these videos and photos; this is the only way you'll do something to change it, if you didn't yet. If you are underaged, please don't watch it without the permission of a parent.
